Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born November 18, 1985, in Los Angeles. Felix's father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley while their mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix showed a flair for sports early in her life, and discovered her athletic abilities when she was at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After just 10 weeks of her first race, Felix was second in the 200 meter race on the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix has graduated high school in 2003, signed an athletic contract with Adidas. She then attended college at the University of Southern California and was a teacher in the elementary school. A year later Felix won her first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece and set an all-time junior world record doing 200 meters within 22.18 seconds. At the 2005 Helsinki World Championships, Felix was named the world's youngest champion for the 200m race. She defended the title for the second time in 2007 defeating her Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at the Olympics at Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three of her competitions.
